May LATTE ART THROWDOWN

It was a great turn out, with Baristas from Charleston Coffee shops including Kudu (of course), Black Tap, Caviar & Bananas — and Ben from Counter Culture in Atlanta came to compete as well.

Dylan and Josh. Warming up to pour. Yup.

the judges have fun too …

the final macchiato pour between Dylan and Sophie — both Baristas at Kudu. Boom. Dylan, on left, took the prize.

DJ D Chai (aka Dylan) was the Latte Art Champion for the night. Look at that winning Smile.

a few new things

news: we now carry Counter Culture Coffee at Kudu. They are located in Durham, North Carolina and roast absolutely incredible coffee. They have a huge array of single origin roasts as well as a few blends that we have been loving.

We also just got in pour overs now from Counter Culture. If you have only used a drip coffee machine, you should investigate getting yourself a pour over. Its a great set up for making single cups of coffee. We even have grinders, filters, and even perfect-fit Kudu mugs. Boom.

And want to get a bang for your buck with your daily drip coffee? We got new travel mugs. They are $10 each. And you get a 16 oz cup for $2.00. So you are saving 54 cents every cup! That adds up.

We aren’t only excited about updates in coffee lately. We also have recently added six new taps at Kudu, so we have a total of 10 beers on tap. We got a great chalk board menu to display them all.

We have a good handful of Holy City Brewing Beers on right now. Come try one before they’re gone!

summertime saturday at kudu

Saturday we had Livy Conner and Friends, local Charlestonians, fill the courtyard with the perfect music for the summer weather.

Jason and one of our very loyal, lovable regulars enjoying the music outside

This is Apolo — another loyal, lovable regular. Only he isn’t allowed inside the shop. But Jason and ____ enjoyed laughing at Apolo.

Beside the courtyard, the seats at the bar are of the “prime real-estate” areas of Kudu, Saturday afternoon Diego, Sally, Maddie, and Sam made for a pretty wonderful group.
